ORIAH is the artistic project of Oriana Aharonian, a Uruguayan singer-songwriter. Her work starts from voice, guitar and her own songs, and moves between pop-folk, rock, Latin American music and Uruguayan roots, especially candombe.
Her songs speak of growth, contradiction, grief, desire and becoming stronger, in a close, everyday language. The voice is the center: an intense performance that can go from something intimate to something large on stage.
In March 2024 she presented Dicotomía at Sala Hugo Balzo, SODRE. She played Canelones Suena Bien with Divididos, opened for Natalie Pérez and Gerardo Nieto, and took the project through Argentina, Europe and Armenia.
She is now working on Refugio, her second album, produced by Gerardo Alonso. She is an independent artist, a speech therapist and vocal coach, and she studies guitar at Conservatorio SUR.
